Proper Body Preparation Is Imperative Before You Use A Sun Sunless Tanning Lotion

By Haywood Hunter

With proper preparation of skin, you can be able to get good tan results. It will require you to properly check on those parts that are folded and creased as well as the dry and hard areas before you apply your Sun Sunless tanning lotion. The folded skin is particularly troublesome when it comes to spreading of tan. It might trap a lot of tan which makes it too orangey than other parts of body thus giving you a weird appearance.

It takes practice to understand how you can do the tanning perfectly without causing imperfections. Your first application may be more of experimental than actually applying but with practice, you will be able to know the ins and outs. Some areas can particularly be a challenge to apply especially your back.

The debris will form a layer, which acts as a barrier preventing the infiltration of tanner. Remember that, if the tan will not penetrate to the inside of skin and react with the protein in the epidermis, the skin will not glow. When you go to the shower, the tan will be washed away and you are left with patches of untanned areas.

Because these dry areas like the elbows, knees, and feet tend to resist the penetration of tan, you might also want to apply a little moisturizer or some light normal make up lotion. Generally, moisturizers need not be used when you want to tan your body. The moisturizers, typical lotions, and other skin products you use everyday might need to be skipped during the time you tan the body.

The hair along the facial hairline and the other body needs to be cut. Shaving is done at the correct timing before you put anything on skin. It is advisable you do the shaving and waxing a day or two before you tan. This is in order to allow the skin to heal and become insensitive.

Immediately you shave skin, it is quite sensitive and if you try to put something on it, you may find that you are uncomfortable. It can irritate from the use of sunless tan products. The ingredients in a tanner such as the fragrances and the preservatives might cause reaction with sensitive skin that has just been shaved.

Allowing the skin to stay for about one or two days after shaving will ensure that the moment you apply your tan, it will have already healed and not very sensitive. When applying, if there are parts that take a lot of tan, you can use a damp washcloth or towel to wipe away the excess tan. This will prevent some parts from becoming too orangey than others.

Good tan lotions, when applied will show that tinting bronze color for about five days or more. But, those, which show the color for about three or less days, may not be very suitable. You need to choose the right tan product that will show the shade for sometime before it starts fading out.
